THE CHANGE HAS COME

  • By: Arun Banerjee (AB), Chairman and Managing Director BoB-PRIMAAN International School (BPIS) An endeavour by Umabel Educational Foundation (UEF).

12.'Yes', change has come': (Learn, Teach & Earn. No stagnation)

  • In an industry, the main focus is to maintain the quality of the product it produces. It is possible to falter at the very beginning of the plant to produce some mix product of good and bad quality but the floor managers are on the foot to fine tune the system and see that more and more products comes out, as same as the best product of the industry.
  • And over the time almost 99% of the product comes out of the assembly line as the first one with same quality. That is the businessmen wishes to achieve in his/ her endeavor. Thus the industry makes its name in the world.
  • Now, look the schooling system, what a contrast with an industry set up. While admitting a child in the schooling system all the school management tries to make sure, at least a certain level of knowledge in a child, to put them in a group of certain grade of academics.
  • But at the end of the schooling, the system produces various qualities of products in the same assembly line. What a surprise! There seems to be no kind of quality and worker’s assessment testing control on place to check the system.
  • Both the party, the system and the parents does not bother about it. Think what would have happened if the industry assembly line would have the same production fault while producing the product year after year
  • The entrepreneur goes out of business. But here in the education system they thrive in business. There seems to be no soul searching by any one.
  • I agree your logic 'not all the child has got same IQ' but some variation might be accepted not the whole lot of every year suffering the same dull mind less teaching technique.
  • In my school I have implemented a system where the teachers are equated with the industry production line. You make the child work wonders and produce same set of standard for the same classroom; you deserve an increment, no one going to stop you earning more in the system.
  • In my school I have implemented a system where the teachers are equated with the industry production line. You make the child work wonders and produce same set of standard for the same classroom; you deserve an increment, no one going to stop you earning more in the system.
  • Hence though there might be same entry for some of the teachers but with this performance oriented system they can change their earning capacity, just like industry. This type of competitive environment in the system creates a healthy atmosphere; I call this a 'Learn, Teach and Earn Technique'
  • In my system the management has a quality and workers assessment testing control system in place to monitor the performance and declare increment.
  • 13.'Yes', change has come': ( Mother attends office, brings baby to work)

  • It is an undeniable fact of the nature; mother is most concerned and worried for the well being of her child.
  • When a staff gets three month maternity leave with pay for her pregnancy, she remains happy and thankful to the management, but she does not realize the cruel reality of our work culture. Our system does not allow the new born baby to come with mother in the work place.
  • In today’s unit family, joint earnings are a norm for the lifestyle to coup with both ends meet.
  • To move with the world in sync, the new borne mother tries to return back to pick up the job. She gets puzzled to jiggle around with the new born how to handle the two sides, the home and the office she wants to rejoin.
  • First, the thing she negotiates is her private space by inviting his/her near and dear ones to leave with them and look after the baby.
  • By doing so she gets poor by budget (Added one more to the family) poorer by fractured relation and dependency, poorest by personal freedom, the very reason they moved to a unit family.
  • She is most disturbed; most of the time tries to think back her wish to become mother, as she is torn between two worlds.
  • It is not only the mother gets torn but equally at despair and frustrated is the father to manage a family with in fighting and comparisons.
  • Alas! The joy that came with the new borne weathered around in a short time due to a complex situation partially created by the work culture environment in our society, rest by the demand of progress in family life.
  • It has happened with me and I am sure not all but most of you have gone through in your personal life too.
  • In my system, I have allowed the new borne mother to rejoin her work place with the baby along. I have advised my administration to allot the child helper to handle the baby full day. To share the joy, I have now three baby toddlers in my school screaming, playing smiling around the entire school compound.
  • It would not be an exaggeration to add here that most of the time it is a race between any two staff that can take the child in arm and play around. It is a great stress relief for most of the occasion; we all experienced it on hand and love it.
  • Some time you can find the baby right on the lap of the directors and management heads. It is rear joy par no say, for the working mother and the staff members.
  • The child gets looked after near her mother with food and medical support totally free.By doing so, I have tried to make the new borne mother staff of mine to behappily working with us.
  • 14.'Yes', change has come': (No more extra contribution for extra activities)

  • This fine lines were and are never been printed or discussed while parents / guardians seeking an admission in a present day schooling system, that for any activities out side the school academics; the parents / guardians are to keep their purse strings loosened in the name (fear psychosis / false ego/ social rat race) of supporting a school management to help overall development of the child.
  • It has happened with me and I am sure you would not deny that too. Whenever there is a picnic / excursion visit or any kind of collective gatherings which demands extra expenditure, the practice is 'Send a note to Parents/guardians for the contribution'.
  • Some cases it is compulsory, in other cases there are instances enough that a single or selective group of parents / guardians been targeted to generate the needed fund.
  • We all know and cry foul in heart silently by counting the days when a ward will complete the age old hypocritical educational system.
  • I my school I have made it an offence to collect any extra fund out side the declared amount in the admission policy of that particular year.
  • For the period of time from the very beginning of the school to date, what ever the occasion it might be, I have never collected or demand under any pretext to generate any fund to handle the extra activities in my school.
  • A total transparent and open system and could be verified in any occasion.
  • 15.'Yes', change has come': (The philosophy of the School)

  • The schooling system can teach any thing but the SCADREAP
    S= Sharing, C=Caring, A=Adoration, D=Direction, R=Rearing
    E= Emotion and A= Affection by P=Parents / relations.
  • They are unique and different to each situation and relation to each family, to each community and to the believers of certain faith and religion.
  • I do honour this and believe to the core of my perception that, I would not be able to deliver the goods in human relation.
  • Hence my school will never be a complete boarding system i.e the child will go back to home every evening to learn those 'SCADREAP' things from his/her relation that he/she comes from.
  • Dear Parents / Guardians till date you all have been looking to an endeavour to bring the changes and now the changes have come to BoB-Primaan International School at Chandkhed
  • I welcome you all to take the benefit of the changes long due in your heart while raising a child through modern day parenting.
